South Korea Imposes Provisional Anti-Dumping Duties on Chinese PET Resin

On July 30, 2024, the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance issued Announcement No. 2024-32, imposing provisional anti-dumping duties on PET resin (polyethylene terephthalate) originating from China. These duties will be in effect for four months, from the date of issuance until November 29, 2024. The applicable Korean tariff code for the involved products is 3907.61.0000.

This decision follows an anti-dumping investigation initiated by the Korea Trade Commission on January 12, 2024, targeting PET resin from China. On May 30, 2024, the Korea Trade Commission made a preliminary affirmative determination, recommending that the Ministry of Economy and Finance impose provisional anti-dumping duties on the implicated companies to protect the domestic industry from unfair trade practices.


Details of the Duties

The following producers and their associated exporters will be subject to a provisional anti-dumping duty of 6.62%:

  • Hainan Yisheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd.
  • Yisheng Dahua Petrochemical Co., Ltd.
  • Hainan Yisheng Trading Co., Ltd.
  • Hainan Hengrong Trading Co., Ltd.

The following producers and their associated exporters will be subject to a provisional anti-dumping duty of 7.12%:

  • China Resource Chemical Innovative Materials Co., Ltd.
  • Zhuhai China Resource Chemical Innovative Materials Co., Ltd.
  • China Resources Chemicals New Material Company Limited

Other producers or exporters will be subject to a provisional anti-dumping duty of 7.83%.
