The visit focused on Uzbekistan's industrial policies, energy resources, infrastructure, investment environment and regional market opportunities, with the aim of strengthening local cooperation and supporting Wankai New Materials' long-term development strategy in Central Asia.
The delegation's first meeting was with Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the delegation introduced the overall business activities and development plans of Wankai New Materials and its parent company Zhink Group, with particular emphasis on the company's integrated capabilities across new materials, natural gas-based chemicals, and chemical fiber and textile industries.
Wankai New Materials also expressed its interest in further exploring investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek side welcomed the company's investment plans and introduced several areas of potential cooperation.
These included access to official development planning information for the natural gas chemical and textile industries, energy supply conditions, market access and investment facilitation.
The two sides also discussed Uzbekistan's position as a potential regional production and export base, including opportunities to serve neighboring markets.
The Ministry indicated that a dedicated contact person could be assigned to facilitate communication and follow-up between relevant government authorities and the company.
Following the ministerial meeting, the delegation visited the Tashkent regional government and met with Zoyir Toirovich Mirzaev, Governor of Tashkent Region, as well as the deputy governor responsible for investment and the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The discussions focused on the key supporting conditions required for potential projects involving natural gas-based new materials and integrated chemical fiber and textile production.
Topics included natural gas supply, industrial land, investment incentives, export channels and cross-border logistics.
The Uzbek side introduced the region's investment environment and industrial development priorities, noting that Tashkent Region has attracted a large number of foreign-invested enterprises and that China is among its major sources of foreign investment.
The regional government also highlighted several industries targeted for further investment, including building materials, electronics, copper processing, vehicle manufacturing, chemicals and daily-use products, and pharmaceuticals.
Three industrial parks available to Chinese-invested enterprises were also introduced during the meeting.
The regional government indicated its willingness to assist with natural gas supply coordination, industrial land arrangements and relevant investment incentives, while supporting further communication between the company and local authorities.
The two sides agreed to continue discussions and explore potential site visits to relevant industrial parks.
The delegation subsequently visited Wankai New Materials' Central Asia company for an on-site review.
Chairman Shen and the delegation visited the company's warehouse and office facilities and met with Chinese employees stationed in Uzbekistan as well as local employees.
The delegation reviewed employees' work conditions, local operations and overseas support arrangements, while recognizing the team’s efforts in developing the Central Asian market.
During a subsequent management meeting, Zhu Chenxi, General Manager of the Overseas Business Division of Wankai New Materials, presented an overview of the company's Central Asia operations during the first half of 2026 and outlined priorities for the second half of the year.
Chairman Shen emphasized that Central Asia is an important part of Wankai New Materials'international business development.
He called for continued attention to risk management, market development, customer relationships, supply chain optimization, internal governance, localization of overseas teams and government-business cooperation.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a prudent approach to overseas operations while balancing risk management with sustainable business growth.
The company will continue to improve its regional warehousing and supply chain capabilities, strengthen local management systems and support the long-term and stable development of its overseas business.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Uzbekistan and met with Counsellor Sun for discussions on the local business and investment environment.
Counsellor Sun provided an overview of Uzbekistan's economic and business environment based on the practical experience of several Chinese enterprises operating in the country.
The discussion covered Uzbekistan's demographics, education and talent development, economic conditions, natural resources, agricultural resources, foreign exchange management, taxation, regulatory requirements and local government-business relations.
The delegation also raised practical questions concerning taxation, compliance and day-to-day operations. Counsellor Sun provided detailed guidance and shared experience related to overseas risk management and localized operations.
The discussion provided additional reference for Wankai New Materials in addressing operational issues and evaluating its future development in Uzbekistan.
Strengthening Wankai New Materials' Central Asia Strategy
The visit represents an important step in Wankai New Materials' continued development of its Central Asia strategy.
Through direct communication with Uzbekistan's national and regional authorities, discussions with the Chinese Embassy, and an on-site review of the company's local operations, the delegation gained a more comprehensive understanding of the country's industrial policies, energy resources, investment environment, infrastructure, market access, compliance requirements and potential operational risks.
Going forward, Wankai New Materials will systematically evaluate the information and cooperation opportunities identified during the visit and further assess potential projects in line with its international development strategy.
The company will continue to follow up on the areas of cooperation discussed with government authorities, optimize project plans based on local conditions and explore opportunities arising from Uzbekistan's resource base and geographical position.
Through deeper cooperation between Chinese and Uzbek enterprises, Wankai New Materials aims to strengthen its presence in Central Asia, develop sustainable regional operations and support long-term industrial cooperation and mutually beneficial development.
