The delegation visited Jakarta and Cilegon, engaging with the project team, industrial park representatives, logistics and infrastructure providers, and industry partners to gain a better understanding of local operating conditions and supporting resources.
After arriving in Jakarta, the delegation traveled to Cilegon to meet with the project team and conduct a field assessment of the proposed project site.
The team examined the site's topography and physical conditions, as well as the availability and capacity of supporting infrastructure. Visits to the industrial park's port facilities and power supply facilities provided an opportunity to review logistics connectivity, utility support and other factors relevant to project planning.
The delegation also visited a pile production facility to discuss foundation engineering solutions and construction methods. These technical exchanges will serve as a reference for subsequent engineering planning and construction coordination.
A comprehensive understanding of site conditions and supporting infrastructure is an important part of preparing for the next stages of an overseas manufacturing project.
Raw material supply and logistics infrastructure were key areas of the visit.
In Cilegon, the delegation visited the liquid chemical terminal and monoethylene glycol (MEG) storage facilities to examine terminal operations, storage infrastructure and related handling arrangements. Discussions covered potential MEG transportation and supply routes, terminal handling capacity, storage conditions and operational safety management.
The delegation also met with Mr. Herman, president of the industrial park, to exchange views on Indonesia's petrochemical industry, local upstream and downstream infrastructure, and the development of industrial clusters.
These discussions provided an opportunity to review the local supply chain environment and identify factors relevant to raw material procurement, transportation and coordination as project planning progresses.
In Jakarta, the delegation visited Wankai's overseas warehouse office and met with local sales, logistics and warehousing teams. Discussions focused on current business developments, operational coordination and priorities for the next stage of work.
The delegation also visited the Jakarta headquarters of Conch Group, where both sides exchanged experience in overseas project development, project management and localized operations.
In addition, the project team held discussions with various industrial chain participants and engineering service providers. These exchanges helped strengthen communication with potential partners and support coordination around the project's engineering and operational requirements.
Cooperation with local stakeholders will remain relevant as Wankai evaluates infrastructure, supply chain arrangements and other conditions for the project's development.
The Indonesia visit covered several interconnected aspects of project preparation, including construction conditions, utilities, foundation engineering, raw material supply, port logistics and local operational support.
For the first phase of the 1.5 million-ton-per-year food-grade PET project, these assessments provide a basis for further planning and coordination with local authorities, the industrial park and relevant supply chain partners.
Wankai New Materials will continue to adopt a practical and coordinated approach to its overseas development, maintaining communication with local stakeholders and advancing the necessary preparatory work for the Indonesia project.
The initiative forms part of Wankai New Materials' broader international development efforts, with continued attention to local infrastructure, supply chain coordination and operational requirements.
