2024-09-12
The Jiaxing Science and Technology Bureau has officially recognized KaiPuQi New Materials as a high-tech research and development center for 2024. This prestigious designation underscores the company's significant progress in technological innovation and sets a robust foundation for future development.

ZheJiang KaiPuQi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wankai New Materials Co., Ltd., established in September 2022, is dedicated to advancing strategic initiatives in emerging polyester materials such as PETG and modified PET. The subsidiary focuses on incubating and developing cutting-edge material projects with substantial market potential and notable competitive advantages, aiming to enhance Wankai's innovation capabilities and market positioning.

KaiPuQi's PETG and modified PET resin have found applications in a range of sectors, including medical aesthetics, cosmetics, small appliances, and construction materials. The company's flexible polyester production facility, with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons, has achieved stable production of film-grade PETG and sheet-grade PETG. Noteworthy is the PETG new material series, which has achieved a production milestone of ten thousand tons within six months, with output rising from 7,800 tons last year to 12,500 tons in the first half of this year.

In addition,KaiPuQi's “Bio-based Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF) Project” represents a high-barrier bio-based material. Supported by Wankai's research institute and in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the project successfully completed its first-scale production in 2023 and is now supplying small-batch validation orders to customers. The “PET Chemical Recycling Technology Project” has finished setting up its pilot-scale facility, with comprehensive laboratory research and process adjustments currently underway. The “New Heat-Resistant Copolyester Project” aims to develop high-performance polyester materials suitable for injection molding and sheet processing, with potential applications in home appliances and automotive sectors. This project, developed in collaboration with strategic clients, is undergoing batch production process validation and customer testing.

Wankai is actively implementing a strategy focused on boosting research and development investments while simultaneously expanding into international markets and enhancing production capacity abroad. The company is committed to establishing subsidiary companies for targeted management and operations, amplifying its brand presence, and delivering innovative, high-quality, and sustainable polyester products to customers worldwide.

Wankai's subsidiary KaiPuQi, which focuses on innovation and R&D in the polyester industry, has been designated as a high-tech research and development center. This achievement confirms the success of our strategy and will accelerate both KaiPuQi’s and Wankai’s efforts to attract top technical talent and advance high-tech projects.

Looking ahead, Wankai plans to increase R&D investment, address technological challenges, and facilitate the efficient conversion of technological innovations, thereby boosting the company's innovation capacity and core competitiveness.
