KazOil Refining Explores Strategic Cooperation with Subsidiary Chongqing Wankai

CHONGQING, CHINA – November 14, 2024 A delegation from Kazakhstan’s National Oil Refining Company (KazOil Refining), led by Deputy Director Diaz Diyanov, visited Chongqing Wankai to explore potential collaboration in the ​PET industry.

The visit included a comprehensive tour of the PET production and business development of Chongqing Wankai, including state-of-the-art production facilities, central control room, and exhibition hall.


During the exchange meeting, Xiao Haijun, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Wankai New Materials, joined via video conference to extend a warm welcome to the KazOil team. The discussions centered around Wankai’s expansive domestic and international project portfolio, including operations under Sichuan Zhengdakai, strategic investments, and the company’s forward-looking market strategies.


KazOil representatives outlined their strategic vision, expressing confidence in the untapped potential of the Chinese market and their interest in leveraging Wanka’s established industry position to enhance both companies’operational capacities. 


The two sides explored promising opportunities for collaboration in PET production, as well as downstream integration, with a particular focus on improving operational efficiency, expanding market reach, and driving further innovation within the sector.


Looking ahead, both companies expressed mutual optimism about the potential for continued growth and strategic partnership, capitalizing on the Belt and Road Initiative to strengthen their market positions and drive long-term success in the industry.
