Coca-Cola FEMSA Enhances CSD Production with Sidel Super Combi

2025-04-29
Coca-Cola FEMSA has recently installed Sidel's Super Combi at its Jundiai plant in Brazil, boosting the productivity of its carbonated soft drink (CSD) line to 39,000 bottles per hour.

As one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers worldwide, Coca-Cola FEMSA operates 56 production facilities and 249 distribution centers across Latin America, serving over 270 million consumers. With CSD demand in the region growing, driven by shifting consumer preferences and economic recovery, the company is expanding its production capabilities to meet market needs.

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) resin is widely used for carbonated beverage packaging due to its excellent strength, lightweight properties, and ability to maintain carbonation, making it a preferred material in the industry. Coca-Cola FEMSA utilizes PET resin for the production of CSD bottles, aligning with industry best practices for packaging efficiency and product quality.

The Sidel Super Combi integrates five key components—preform feeder, blower, labeller, filler/capper, and cap feeder—into a single compact system, reducing the line footprint by up to 30% compared to standalone equipment. In this project, the Super Combi replaced existing wet block equipment and was smoothly integrated into the current production setup.

The upgraded line now supports up to ten bottle formats ranging from 0.2L to 2L. It incorporates Sidel's BlendFILL system, combining the mixer and filler into one unit to streamline operations, minimize system complexity, and achieve significant reductions in CO₂ consumption and water usage during cleaning cycles.

To further optimize production, Coca-Cola FEMSA implemented Sidel's Evo-ON Care and Performance applications, enabling real-time monitoring and actionable insights to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

The production line is fully compatible with 100% recycled PET preforms, supporting Coca-Cola FEMSA's sustainability initiatives.

Previously installed at Coca-Cola FEMSA's water line at the Bauru plant, the Sidel Super Combi is now further advancing smart and efficient beverage production across the company's CSD operations.
